Philosophy of Nursing
There are many reasons why I want to become a nurse, but the biggest reason is my nephew Zann. Zann was born with seven congenital heart defects. At two weeks of age he had his first open heart surgery for a coarche repair, at four months of age he had his second to replace his mitral valve, and at two years of age he had his third to clear out the scar tissue that had formed around the valve replacement. Through all of this he has been a trooper and I thank and appreciate the nurses that have tended to him before and after his surgeries. If not for them my sister would have lost her mind and I don’t think my nephew would have recuperated as well as he has. I want to give back what has been given so unselfishly to my family by becoming a community nurse. Maybe I could make a difference in some one elses life, like the nurses who have taken care of my nephew.
