Personal Reflection: This course taught me to implement the nursing process in an adult acute care setting. I learned that adults with acute illnesses need ample education about their illness and how they and their families are being impacted by this illness and how they are coping with it.
Patient Teaching: Medication compliance, effective deep breathing techniques, proper nutrition, and ambulation as tolerated by patient importance.

Personal Reflection: In the extended care/long term facility, I learned how communicate with patients who had cognitive impairments or physical impairments that limited their ability to communicate verbally. I also learned that gerontological patients have special needs due to immobility impairments and medication administration.

Personal Reflection: This class taught me the basic principals of medications functions, reactions, action, and dosages to make myself more knowledgeable on proper medication distribution.

EBP: Oral care every two hours on trach pateints, urine monitoring on sedated patients, and isoltion precation on patients with MRSA.
Patient teaching: Coughing and deep breathing after surgery, importance of eating a good diet, and medicatin administration.
Personal Reflection: Throughout this course I acquired the skill and knowledge to care for the critically ill patient. Critically ill patients have special needs and equipment pertaining to thier condition, through this course I feel confident in using this equipment to accommodate their needs.

Patient teaching: Infection control, importance of immunization administration, and establishing a primary care provider.
Personal Reflection: This course taught me the roles and resposibiliteis of the community health nurse and thier vital resposibility to bring quality health care to those who can't acquire or afford it. They also play an important role in patient advocacy. Nurses in this field also practice under resticted funds and in adverse conditions to better their communities that they work in.
